Rusty is a dedicated public servant with over 30 years of experience in law enforcement and a proven track record of community-focused leadership. Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in critical roles including Patrol Division Commander, Bomb Squad Commander, Crisis Negotiator, Field Training Coordinator, and SWAT Commander. Rusty is a graduate of several respected leadership programs, including the Jefferson County Personnel Board’s 360° Leadership and Professional Development Program, Leadership Center Point, and the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy for Executive Law Enforcement Leadership. He has spent decades mentoring future leaders, developing practical solutions, and responding to complex challenges with a steady hand and a servant’s heart.

Now running for Mayor of Springville, Rusty brings a commitment to hard work, collaboration, and respectful leadership. He believes in listening to all members of the community and working together to build a safer, stronger, and more connected Springville. With extensive training in the FEMA Incident Command Structure and years of active involvement in local chambers of commerce and neighborhood associations, he understands the importance of preparation, communication, and unity. Rusty’s leadership style is rooted in respect for every voice and a dedication to making everyone feel heard, valued, and part of the solution.
